Who Made Your Pants?

Gorgeous Pants. By women, for women.

Want to get involved in Who Made Your Pants?

We’re hiring!

Not paid roles at the moment but due to two of our volunteers securing themselves full time work (and they both credited time with us as helping them do so) we’re looking for volunteers… The role is broad and we are open to it being shared between a number of people, but the minimum time commitment per person is 2 x half days per week.

The Role

A hands on role within a small, well respected, award winning and fast growing social business comprising offices, dispatch and a small factory in Southampton. It will give a strong grounding in all aspects of starting and running your own business – according to one of our successful job finders,  ‘a breadth of experience and understanding of what goes on in a business’ and there is opportunity for real responsibility from day one. A previous volunteer, a graduate of the University of Southampton, who was with us for almost two years during and after her degree, said, ‘I have learnt a tremendous amount and it has given me brilliant experience’.

The role is very varied, you will not be micromanaged, and there is scope for you to make the role suit you. It will include everything from day to day administration and office management (answering phones/doors/collecting post) to uploading new products onto our website to picking orders and wrapping them to running financial reports and preparing for and/or attending events, including in London. There is scope for the role to be directed towards particular interests – if marketing, or finance are particularly interesting, for example, we can ensure that those jobs fall to the volunteer.

You will work alongside our founder and MD Becky John, Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts, an UnLtd Level 2 award winner, and regular speaker (Tedx talk upcoming) on social business.

You

You will need excellent written and spoken business English and an ability to think on your feet – we are a small and growing business, not an established one and so there are still some things that we are developing. You will need to be able to work and communicate effectively in a team made up of part time attendees, and you will understand that information shaing between such a team is critical. You will have a good telephone manner and the ability ti provide excellent customer service.

You will be familiar with generic office software packages and have the patience to cope with our slightly aged computers freezing…

You will be a fast learner and quick thinker, and you will be ambitious for yourself and for us. We are connected into some amazing media and corporate networks in London and the south and can connect you to them if you show yourself to be suited to them.

We do have to stress that on site volunteering roles are available to women only.

Your organisation sounds terrific. I am sorry I live so far away in Sheffield.
I have just sold my business and am looking for a new challenge. My background started as a grocer’s daughter; so from the age of 7 have been involved in an entrepreneurial environment. I have had involvement in Communications, industry, Social Housing, Worker Co-operatives through employment. Have established and developed my own Property Management Business and was MD of a company rescue which as I mention has recently been sold.
If you feel there is anything I can do at arms length please let me know.
    Kind Regards
    June Gunter
